BOAT HANDLING, which replaces Seamanship, is the next course to take if you’ve already taken an introductory boating class such as America’s Boating Course.  The class will be conducted on Wednesdays over the course of six weeks, beginning May 1 through June 5.
A written test will be given on Wednesday, June 12, for members who wish to be granted the advanced grade of “Seaman.”

We strongly recommend taking this class in person to maximize your investment of time and resources. However, it will be available online as well. The link will be published weekly to registered participants.
NOTE:  The test required to certify course completion must be taken in person on June 12.

DETAILS
Hosted by the St. Paul Squadron
Available to members and the boating public, including youths
Instruction is free, and provided by qualified member instructors
Materials cost is $75.00 for members, $150.00 for non-members (Families may share materials.)

May 1 – Rules of the Road: a practical approach
May 8 – Confidence in Docking and Undocking: slow-speed maneuvering
May 15 – Boating with Confidence: handling your boat while under way
May 22 – Anchoring with Assurance: don’t get carried away
May 29 – Emergencies on Board: preparation for handling common problems
June 5 – Knots and Line Handling: knots you need to know
June 12 – Written test
