Join us for boater camaraderie and a delightful presentation by local native Don Jones as he describes his 2,700-mile journey across the Atlantic Ocean on the Northern Child with an 11-member international crew during a 2005 race. Jones – a local historian, sailor and author – has presented on the history of the city of St. Mary’s Point, where he served as a council member and as mayor. For 10 years he raced with the St. Croix Sailing Club and has frequently crossed Lake Superior. You will also have an opportunity to purchase his book, 18 Days: Racing Across the Atlantic.
