October 14, 2023 @ 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
What better way to commemorate (mourn?) the end of the Upper Midwest boating season than with fellow boaters? And to provide a bit of civic service while we’re at it?! How better to spend a fall Saturday? Not raking leaves . . . Hope we can count you in!
Here’s Our Plan for the Day:
We’ll meet on Saturday, October 14, at the Bayport Marina Clubhouse, starting at 10:00. With coffee, fruit and doughnuts.
10:00 – District 10 Admin Officer (and Geodetic Mark Hunter Extraordinaire) Sandra Broekema will teach us all about the marks:how to know where to look for them, identify them and document them.
12:00 – Small teams head out to find pre-designated marks.
3:30 – Head back to the Clubhouse for stories and cocktails.
4:00 – Enjoy potluck chili and fixin’s, with a prize for the best chili.
The event will take place rain or shine. If rain or cold prevails, Sandra’s presentation will still get us started so we can conduct future hunts on our own. Early afternoon we’ll play some of Kris’s “In-It-to-Win-It” games – then proceed with the chili cook-off.
Bring your own hard or soft beverage, and chili or fixin’s to share.
