We’re trying something new – a Brunch potluck!
Then learn basic weather knowledge and how to use it to enhance your boating enjoyment and safety – FOR FREE!
ABOUT the BRUNCH:
9:15 Barista station opens for lattes, mochas, cappuccinos, espressos . . .
9:45 Brunch is served!
Hot cider and pancakes will be provided.
Please feel free to enhance the feast as you like. Need a suggestion? What about fresh fruit; an egg bake; muffins, doughnuts or rolls; other juices/beverages? – or whatever you think will make for a great brunch – besides yourself, of course.
During brunch, Doug Steven, captain of the vessel Areté, will share slides and stories of his summer-long adventure on the Great Lakes as far away as Georgian Bay on Lake Huron. Doug voyaged solo much of the time, but was accompanied along the way by friends, family and adventuresome crew.
ABOUT the WEATHER SEMINAR:
Approximate start time: 10:15
Al Harmon will present Weather basics and how to use that information to enhance your boating enjoyment. The safety and comfort of those who venture out on the water have always been weather dependent, and this 90-minute session is a must for boaters who have never taken a weather course and a great refresher for those who have. The complex subject of weather is presented in a way that is both understandable and useful. Topics include: Clouds, Winds, Air Masses & Fronts, Thunderstorms, Fog and Forecasting. And it’s free!
Please help us plan by letting us know you’re coming – to just brunch, just the seminar, or both. Thanks!
