MARINE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS begins with a basic explanation of electricity, followed by discussions on boat electrical wiring, DC and AC electrical systems, galvanic and stray current corrosion and lightning protection. Final sessions focus on troubleshooting typical boat electrical problems.
The class will be conducted on Wednesdays over the course of nine weeks, beginning October 11 through December 6.
A written test will be given on Wednesday, December 6.
Because there will be many visual demonstrations and some hands-on opportunity, it is strongly recommended to take this class in person. However, it will be available online as well. The link will be published weekly to registered participants.
